September 18, 2009

Nashville, TN - Multi talented RSI Music recording artist, Gordon Mote was honored this week by the Academy of Country Music, who announced the winners of the ACM Awards, which will not be televised during the live telecast of the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards. When the non-televised Award winners were announced on Tuesday, March 24, Gordon Mote was named Top Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year under the MBI (Musicians, Band, Instrumental) Awards category.

Mote, a newcomer to the Southern Gospel Music scene, has only recently become recognized for his exceptional musical abilities to Southern Gospel audiences, but has long been noted as one of Nashville’s most talented studio musicians. Mote’s talents can be heard on the recordings of some of the nation’s premier preformers, including Brad Paisley, Trisha Yearwood, Alan Jackson, Rascal Flatts and Alison Krauss, just to name a few; however, since releasing his debut Southern Gospel recording in 2004, the talented singer and musician has enjoyed much success, including numerous Top 40 hits in multiple music genres and numerous Fan Award nominations. Mote’s video release, “The Best of Gordon Mote,” made its debut at Number 7 on the Billboard Music Video Chart in 2008. Mote’s travels in 2009 will include stops in the US, Canada and Europe sharing the stage on more than 60 dates with music legend Bill Gaither and his Grammy Award winning Gaither Vocal Band.

Mote returned to the recording studio in January to begin work on a brand new recording for RSI Music Group. RSI anticipates an early summer release for the new recording, tentatively titled, “I Will Sing.”

The 44th Academy of County Music’s Awards ceremony, which honors country music’s top talent, as well as the industry’s hottest emerging talent, will air live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 5 at 8:00pm (Eastern time) on CBS Television Network. The Academy of Country Music Special Awards are voted on by the ACM Board of Directors. Special MBI Awards are presented to recipients at ACM Honors, a special event held annually in the fall. This year’s event will take place in Nashville on September 22, 2009.
